Black Liberty Angel Doll Pattern

I am pleased to present "1776" a black Americana Liberty Angel doll pattern with flag bunting wings, accented with rusty jingle bell streamers. Not only is this Americana Liberty angel uniquely designed by SeW PriM Pattern Originals, but she canbe displayed separately with (or without) her flag bunting wings. For the Americana collector or simply for the Patriotic season, this primitive folkart black Liberty angel would make a wonderful statement hanging on your wall during the patriotic season or for year round enjoyment! The pattern will come complete with instructions to make Liberty, her dress, twig sweet annie crown, "1776" banner, flag streamers and of course my painting and staining technique. Also included, is a detail face photo, list of supplies and where most items used in making the Liberty angel can be found. Although I have used a purchased flag bunting for the wings, I have also included and optional pattern template for cutter quilt wings. Although fairly simple, there is lots of hand work and as always, basic sewing knowledge and skills are recommended.

For the Americana collector or simply for the Patriotic season, this primitive folkart black Liberty angel doll would make a wonderful statement hanging on your wall during the patriotic season or for year round enjoyment! Liberty will be made from painted and stained muslin with penciled eyes, sculpted nose and stitched lips. Her hair is a dark brown sheep's wool which will be securely stitched to the top of her head. The halo-crown is a twig wreath wrapped with Sweet Anne then securely stitched to the top of her head. Liberty's dress will be made from a stained white cotton fabric and of course the wings are a purchased flag bunting that will come with the muslin and rusty jingle bell streamers wired to each end of the flag bunting grommets. The wood lathe star will be accented with the painted mustard color banner with the numbers "1776" hand painted on and securely wired to the star. The finished wood lathe "1776" star will then be securely stitched to the backside of Liberty's sculpted hands to give the illusion of her holding it. The navy and red tonal stripe homespun and rusty Liberty bell pendant will accent Liberty's neck. Liberty will measure approximately 40 inches finished and her flag bunting wing span is approximately 39 inches. Limited finished dolls are made to order black as shown (or white, upon request) and additional detail photos available upon request for the finished doll. Uncle Sam & Liberty Doll Make-Do
|
Uniquely original and great for the patriotic season this Americana black Uncle Sam & Liberty doll make-do will be a wonderful addition nestled into your Americana decor. Liberty and Justice are made of painted osnaburg to give the illusion of a flag, sanded and stained for a more prim look. Their eyes and lips are painted on and I have needle sculpted their brows and nose. Flax was used for the hair and Uncle Sam's beard. The hands which have also been needle sculpted have been painted white to give the illusion of gloves. The neck and arms are accented with blue color vintage style tinsel garland and a white wool felt bow tie adorns Uncle Sam's neck and a vintage brass Liberty bell is pinned to Liberty's with a rusted safety pin. Liberty's sash and cumberbund is stained gauze tied off to the side. Uncle Sam's hat and Liberty's crown are painted wool felt, also accented with vintage style tinsel. Stitched to the back side of their hands is a painted and stained white wool felt star that is accented with a red painted wool felt medallion and blue star, also trimmed with red vintage style tinsel. The round tag is stamped "1776" and pinned to the star with a rusty "T" pin. The ribbon banners extended from each side of the star read "Liberty" and "Justice" and are made of aged looking parchment paper. This sweet Americana duo is securely mounted to a vintage mill spool and have an overall finished height of 19 inches. Liberty & Justice is a one-of-a-kind piece, the prototype for my new pattern "Liberty & Justice" (c2008 by Sew Prim Pattern Originals) and will come signed and dated.
